When this started, in 2021, I only originally intended to seek support from corporate bodies, but so many friends and colleagues asked if they could sponsor me too that I eventually gave in to them!

All pledges over £20 received, upon request, a Challenge-TM bidon (the fancy cycling word for drinking bottle) for every £20 pledged. Naturally, corporate sponsors could request a specific number of bidons.

Sponsorship pledges for both 2021 and 2022 were only applicable if I cycled up Mont Ventoux from Sault non-stop (‘comfort’ breaks excluded) – well, that was the plan anyway!

I also worked with prestige cycle clothing manufacturer Assos of Switzerland, to design a specific summer cycling jersey. A number of these were produced and subsequently donated to Challenge-TM. These in turn were available to purchase by supporters in return for a donation to the overall fund. I’m pleased to say that – despite a minimum donation of £85 per jersey (the nett cost) – the first 11 to go raised £1,210 with the highest donation of £150!  All the jerseys were accounted for and I would need a minimum order of 20 to secure some more.
